Community Development Institute Scholarship
ACDS sponsors one or more scholarships annually which will be awarded to a qualified applicant. The purpose is to provide a continuing educational opportunity for members of ACDS who are practitioners or professionals in the field of community development.
The scholarship will be awarded and applied toward tuition fees only to attend CDI. This will be paid directly to CDI. Other expenses such as travel, lodging, meals and incidentals are the responsibility of the recipient, the recipient’s employer or specified sponsor.
QUALIFICATION
The applicant must occupy a position which will impact development within their community.
The applicant cannot repeat a previous CDI session.
The applicant must be a current ACDS member in good standing.
The applicant should further state his/her intent to remain in the community development field.
The scholarship award must be utilized within 12 months of the award announcement.
The recipient of a scholarship shall remain active in the community development field in Arkansas for one year from the date the scholarship is awarded. If the recipient leaves Arkansas prior to the end of the twelve-month period, the recipient will reimburse ACDS on a prorated basis of 10% per month, up to 90%.
The applicant must show a letter of endorsement from his/her employer.

Career motivation
Financial need
The Selection Committee will select recipients and one alternate. The alternate will not be notified unless a primary recipient cannot accept the scholarship.
Notification of selection will be made by the ACDS president or the Awards & Scholarships Committee Chair.
